PUBLIC SERVICE

Amy ran for Vigo County School Board at the height of the pandemic, declaring in the summer of 2020. The race was crowded, with with five opponents vying for two seats. Amy came out on top with a 5% lead.

She has served as Secretary (2012), Vice President (2022), and this year was chosen to be the Board's President, leading the search for a new Superintendent. Her Board work includes membership on the Policy Committee and a Mayoral appointment to the Terre Haute Redevelopment Commission.

Amy loves Terre Haute and Vigo County, and there is no where else she would rather serve. (Read the Tribune Star article, "It's Beautiful Here.") She is a firm believer in the value of quality public education, crediting her experience in the system as setting both her and her husband up for lifelong success. She feels strongly that it is her turn to give back to improve the system that served her.

The vision VCSC put forward in its previous strategic plan has been accomplished, and the community is now at a crossroads. The Board is looking for a new Superintendent with vision, compassion, and a heart for students and the community.
